Privacy Policy

This policy describes what Sway Blogs collects when you use this website, why we collect it, and what you can ask us to do about it. It is written to be read, not to be survived.

The short version

We collect very little. There are no advertising trackers, no analytics products and no social media pixels on this site. The only information we hold about you is what you type into a form, plus the ordinary server records every website keeps.

What we collect, and why

1. Newsletter sign-ups

If you give us your email address, we store the address, the date, the page you signed up from and the IP address the sign-up came from. The IP and timestamp exist so we can show a sign-up was genuine if it is ever disputed. We use the address only to send the newsletter.

2. Messages you send us

If you write to us through the contact page, we store your name, your email address, your subject line, your message and the IP address it was sent from, so that we can read it and reply.

3. Ordinary server records

Our web host keeps standard access logs — IP address, the page requested, the time, your browser's user-agent string. These exist to keep the site running and to deal with abuse. We do not use them to build a profile of you.

4. Cookies

Sway Blogs sets one cookie of its own: a session cookie that lets the site work correctly while you move around it. It carries no advertising identifier.

Separately, when you click a link to a shop, the affiliate network that link goes through sets its own cookie so the retailer can credit the visit to us. That cookie belongs to the network — Awin, Impact, Partnerize, Pepperjam or the retailer's own programme — and is governed by their privacy policies, not this one. What we do not do

  • We do not sell, rent or trade your information.
  • We do not run advertising networks, retargeting pixels or behavioural profiling on this site.
  • We do not ask for, take or store payment details. Nothing is sold here.
  • We do not knowingly collect information from children under 16.

How long we keep things

  • Newsletter addresses — until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them.
  • Contact messages — kept while the matter is open and reviewed periodically.
  • Server logs — kept for a short period by our host, then rotated away.

Who else can see it

Our web host stores the site and its database on our behalf, which means their systems hold this data at rest. We do not pass your information to anyone else, except where we are required to by law.

Your rights

Wherever you live, we will honour these requests:

  • Ask what we hold about you.
  • Ask us to correct something that is wrong.
  • Ask us to delete it.
  • Withdraw consent for the newsletter at any time.

Write to us on the contact page. We do not charge for this and we do not make it difficult. If you are in the UK, EU or another region with data protection law, those rights are in addition to anything set out here, not instead of it.

Security

The site is served over HTTPS. The control panel is protected by a password and locks after repeated failed sign-in attempts. No system is perfect, and we do not hold payment details or identity documents, which limits what there is to lose.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes materially, the date at the top of this page changes with it.
