About Sway Blogs

Sway Blogs is an independent review site. We write about the clothing, home, beauty, pet and travel brands people are actually considering buying from, and we try to answer the one question a product page never will: is this worth your money?

Why this site exists

Most people researching a purchase run into the same wall. The brand's own website tells you everything is excellent. The review sites at the top of the search results often read as though nobody involved has ever handled the product. Somewhere in between sit thousands of real owners who have written about what happened after three months of use, and their accounts are scattered across retailer pages, forums and comment sections where nobody has time to read them all.

That reading is the work we do. A Sway Blogs review pulls those accounts together, sets them against the maker's own specifications and any published independent testing, and reports what the weight of the evidence actually says, including the parts a brand would rather leave out.

How a review gets written

Every review on this site is built from sources we can point to:

  • Verified owner reviews from retailer listings, including the critical ones. A product with thousands of ratings tells a story that a single opinion cannot.
  • Independent testing published by people who measured something, when it exists for that product category.
  • The maker's own documentation — materials, dimensions, warranty terms, care instructions — which is often where a marketing claim quietly narrows.
  • Editorial coverage from established publications that have handled the product.

Where a claim in a review comes from a source, we name that source in the text so you can go and check it yourself. If the evidence is thin, we say so rather than filling the gap with confident language.

Our full method, including what we will not do, is set out in our Editorial Policy.

What we are not

We think it is worth being plain about this, because a lot of review sites are not.

  • We are not a testing laboratory. We do not run controlled trials, and we do not claim that every product on this site has passed through our hands.
  • We are not a shop. You cannot buy anything from Sway Blogs. When you click a buy link you are going to the retailer, and your order, your payment, your delivery and your returns are entirely between you and them.
  • We are not sponsored coverage. No brand can buy a review, a score, or a place in a list on this site.

How the site pays for itself

Sway Blogs earns through affiliate links. When you click through to a retailer and buy something, that retailer may pay us a small commission. It costs you nothing extra and it does not change the price you are quoted. It also does not change what a review says: the commission is the same whether we recommend a product or advise you to avoid it.

The full arrangement, including the networks we work with, is in our Affiliate Disclosure.

Prices on this site

Where you see a price on a product card, it has usually been read automatically from the retailer's own product page, and it is refreshed daily. Prices still move, and a sale can start or end between our check and your visit. Always treat the retailer's checkout as the real price.

Getting a correction to us

We would rather be corrected than be wrong. If you have found a factual error, a price that has been out of date for a while, or a claim you think we cannot support, tell us through the contact page. Point us at the specific review and, if you can, at what the correct information is. We will look at it and, where we got something wrong, we will fix the review and note what changed.
