Affiliate Disclosure

Sway Blogs earns money through affiliate links. This page explains exactly how that works, so you can read our reviews knowing where our income comes from.

The short version

Some links on this site take you to a shop. If you buy something after following one of those links, the shop may pay Sway Blogs a commission. You pay nothing extra — the price at the checkout is the same as it would have been had you gone to the shop directly.

How to spot an affiliate link

Every buy button and product link that earns us a commission is marked in the page's code with rel="sponsored nofollow" and opens in a new tab. In practice, assume that any link on this site pointing at a shop is an affiliate link.

Who pays us

We take part in affiliate programmes run by these networks, and in some brands' own programmes directly:

  • Awin
  • Impact
  • Partnerize
  • Pepperjam (Ascend)
  • Individual retailer and brand programmes signed directly

When you click through, the network places a cookie in your browser so the retailer can tell that the visit came from us. That cookie is set by the network, not by Sway Blogs, and it is what makes a commission possible. Our Privacy Policy covers this in more detail.

Why commission does not decide a verdict

This is the part that matters. Our rate is a percentage of a sale, and it is broadly similar across the brands we cover, so there is no product we are paid extra to push. Recommending something that turns out to be poor costs us the thing the site actually runs on, which is people coming back.

In practice that means:

  • Reviews say when a competitor beats the product we could earn from, and link to it.
  • We publish the recurring complaints, the durability problems and the counterfeit warnings even when doing so will cost us sales.
  • We cover products with no affiliate programme at all when they are the right answer.

What we will not do is set out in our Editorial Policy.

What we are not telling you

We do not disclose our commission rates for individual brands, because those are commercially confidential under the network agreements we have signed. What we will tell you is that no brand on this site has bought a review, a score or a ranking, and that none of them see a review before it is published.

Prices and availability

Prices shown on this site are read from the retailer's own product page and refreshed daily. They can still be out of date by the time you click, and stock can run out. The price and availability at the retailer's checkout is the only one that counts.

Sway Blogs is not the seller

Your purchase is a contract between you and the retailer. Payment, delivery, warranty, returns and refunds are all handled by them under their terms, not ours. If something goes wrong with an order, the retailer is who you need. We are happy to hear about it through the contact page, because a pattern of problems is something our readers should know about, but we cannot resolve an order on your behalf.

Questions

If anything here is unclear, or you think a link has not been disclosed properly, tell us on the contact page.
