Cozey USA Review The Modular Storage Sofa That Scored 96/100 in PureWow’s Test

PureWow’s 96/100 score is one of the highest any boxed sofa has earned, with perfect scores for comfort and aesthetics and 19/20 for quality. Maida describes the seat cushions as “cushy enough to conform to your body, firm enough to offer plenty of support,” which is the balance most buyers want from a daily sofa. The build supports that. The seat frame uses solid larch wood, plywood, steel springs and elastic webbing, the backrest frame uses LVL and plywood, and the cushions are foam wrapped in polyester batting. Each seat is 25.2" wide and 22.4" deep, with a 16.9" backrest and 25.6" armrests. Maida calls the sofa “an investment that truly feels like an investment.” Domino’s long-term reviewer adds that the foam cushions stayed sturdy and comfortable after months of use.

Cozey’s main advantage over fixed sofas is flexibility. You choose the configuration, rounded or square shape, armrest height and fabric (corduroy, chenille, bouclé, a textured weave or ultra-durable performance polyester), and add an ottoman or chaise. Modules can be added later as your space or family grows. Optional storage under each seat cushion holds about 74.5–79.5 liters per module, enough for blankets, board games or kids’ toys, which is a real advantage in apartments. A 3D augmented reality preview lets you scan a QR code and see the sofa in your own room through your phone camera before ordering. PureWow tested a high-angled three-seater with storage and an ottoman at $2,575, just over 9 feet long including armrests.

This is the trade-off. Cozey doesn’t offer white glove delivery, so the boxes arrive at your doorstep and you carry them in. PureWow’s reviewer found getting the boxes inside and unpacked to be the hardest part. Assembly itself is tool-free: screw legs into each base, put on the labeled fabric covers, slide arm and backrests into place on metal racks, and connect modules with plastic floor connectors. A second person helps with lifting, though Maida’s partner did most of it alone. PureWow lists the time-consuming setup as its main con. On Trustpilot, most of Cozey’s 945 reviews are positive (4.2 overall), but some complain about logistics, including “Terrible service and terrible operations and logistics.” Have help ready on delivery day and check every box before recycling packaging.

Washable covers are a big reason families choose Cozey. Covers come off by unfastening Velcro, and PureWow’s reviewer washed one on a cold cycle, then air-dried it flat for about a day. Fabric choice affects how it ages: Domino’s reviewer found bouclé matted where people sit, so performance polyester or a tight weave suits heavy use better. The standard warranty is a five-year limited warranty on defective parts, excluding consumer-caused damage. CozeyProtection+ adds three years of full damage coverage for $440, which is worth considering with pets or young kids. The 30-day risk-free trial with free returns is useful, but short for a sofa, so live with it seriously in the first few weeks to judge comfort and fit.
