There’s nothing better than going to bed at night with a clean, fresh duvet over a cozy, fluffy duvet. I love snuggling up under a fluffy down comforter and quality bedding makes all the difference. Breathable fabrics are so important for a good night’s sleep and feeling cool, and Parachute offers a ton of high-quality bedding and home items.
I had my eye on the Parachute bedding for a while before I pulled the trigger. Quality bedding is certainly an investment, so I had to save up before purchasing my first duvet cover. I was blown away when I walked into the Parachute store and began to see and feel the quality for myself. From then on, I was determined to upgrade our bedding. I’ve tried several different brands and styles of luxury bedding, but in this post I want to share my honest Parachute sheets review. Spoiler alert: I love it. I never want to leave my bed!
I have been more than satisfied with my parachute sheets for years. We have comforters in our master bedroom and guest room, and now we even have a winter comforter and a summer comforter as well as linen sheets! We liked how lightweight, comfortable, easy to clean and durable each item is. Even if your bed is a little more expensive, the investment is worth it. Don’t skimp on your bed or linens during the time you spend there.
Ariel Kaye founded Parachute in 2014 when she noticed a gap in the home goods market – she was having difficulty finding high-quality, consumer-friendly brands. To fill this gap, she founded Parachute by selling bedding and other home goods directly to the consumer. The brand now has brick-and-mortar stores nationwide in major cities such as L.A., Denver, Chicago, Houston, New York, Seattle and many more.
Parachute has calming colors and is right up my style with solids, neutrals and minimalist prints. They have tons of different materials and everything from duvets and mattresses to bath towels and bathrobes. You can buy them directly in store or on their website, but also at Nordstrom and occasionally at Nordstrom Rack where you can snag seasonal items at a great price!
Different fabrics have different weaves, making them more or less breathable, heavier and lighter, and have different appearances. Satin has a one-under-three weave – literally one thread among three threads – which gives it its silky sheen. Compared to satin, percale is much lighter. Its matte finish is due to the top and bottom fabric. Like linen, linen wrinkles more than any other fabric, but is known for being lightweight and durable.
We chose the percale sheet set in the color “Cley” which we thought would work well. The color ended up looking great, although it was hard not to choose some of their more fun colors.” Their standard sheet sets consist of just a fitted sheet and two pillowcases, perfect for households without a top sheet, but you can add them included A cover sheet is also included.
The sheets arrived in cute bow packaging, but were wrapped in plastic bags – not the best, but not bad for 100% cotton sheets from a carbon neutral brand that are supposed to last forever. Since there was no noticeable factory smell, I placed them directly on the bed to compare how they felt before and after washing.
We own the percale sheet set with our percale duvet cover set. We love how cool, light and fresh they are. They’re great because we both get hot at night and they’re made for hot sleepers. We were also able to get the same sand color as our comforter, which I really like because of the coordination!
These satin sheets are super soft and luxurious and are made from 100% high quality long staple Egyptian cotton. They have a slight sheen that gives them a luxurious look and feel.
These 100% pre-washed sheets are soft to the touch and feel like your favorite t-shirt wrapping around you as you sleep.
As usual, we opened the window a crack before bed and woke up shivering in the middle of the night! Swapped the t-shirt for a sweatshirt and sweatpants and crawled back into the cool sheets. This wasn’t the most scientific experiment – perhaps it was a colder night than normal – but the sheets certainly seemed to live up to their breathability standards.
There used to be a store in Dallas where you could buy Parachute bedding. An updated list of stores can be found here. It is very important to me to feel fabrics and know how they feel. That’s why I went to the store several times before deciding. Some department stores like Nordstrom also carry Parachute. So you can call or come in person to see if your local store has any in stock. You can always take a look at the store locator or shop online.
